Oregon Republican with union ties eyed for Trump’s Labor Secretary

In recent days, Donald Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida residence has been buzzing with job seekers and foreign leaders eager to curry favor with the president-elect.

According to Fox News Digital, Oregon Republican Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer is headed to Mar-a-Lago this week for an audience with the once and future president – as Republicans reportedly push Trump to tap her for Labor Secretary.

She narrowly lost her re-election battle this month to Democrat Janelle Bynum, but Trump may put Chavez-DeRemer to work in a new role – in a power move that could solidify the GOP’s growing strength with working-class voters.

The congresswoman has union backing, with the Teamsters endorsing her for the Cabinet role.
